Years ago, I thrived as a property, casualty, life, and health insurance representative. For the first time in my career, I stepped into the world of independent work—flexible, autonomous, and entirely commission-based.
That transition forced me to confront how I worked, who I leaned on, and whether I was willing to move beyond going it alone —
choosing action instead of isolation.
Having never worked commission sales before, the experience was both exhilarating and unnerving. I felt energized by the freedom and unsettled by the responsibility that came with it.
